Medical history

The patient, born in 2015, has a primary diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at level 3, accompanied by non-verbal tendencies, diagnosed in March 2018. Intensive therapeutic interventions, including 20 hours per week of speech therapy, occupational therapy, ABA, and Early Start Denver Model, were conducted between 2019 and 2021, with no medications administered for the ASD diagnosis.

Condition On Admission

The patient’s primary ASD symptoms are non-verbal communication and frequent self-stimulatory behaviors. Additionally, the patient experiences chronic constipation, managed daily with a natural laxative, with symptoms beginning around age 2.5. The patient also has nut allergies, specifically to cashews and pistachios, causing allergic reactions. The patient’s family aims for improved awareness, healing, and potential speech development as the primary goals of continued therapy.

Treatment Schedule

Patient received 8 packs of umbilical cord derived stem cell (UCMSC) by intravenous (IV) injection and intrathecal injection via lumbar puncture (LP), as per the schedule below:

Condition 1 month after treatment

Since receiving treatment, the patient has shown multiple gains in general awareness, independence, and understanding, with specific areas of physical and behavioral improvement noted. Quality of life has seen moderate improvements, which the parents find satisfactory, and they report continued positive changes. While there have been no new diagnoses or illnesses, various behavioral and physical symptoms have seen either significant, moderate, or small improvements, with no reported regressions in any symptom.

While speech development remains a challenge, improvements in overall awareness and comfort in social settings have been observed. The patient’s parents report continued satisfaction with the treatment’s outcomes, though specific verbal gains are still a goal. Importantly, there have been no adverse developments or regressions in existing symptoms, and no new health concerns have arisen.
