Saif, a 15-year-old boy from the United States is back for his 6th treatment with Beike Biotech. His mom, kindly accepted to respond to a Q&A session about our stem cell treatment.

Tell us about Saif’s condition and current symptoms?

Saif has congenital hypotonia, indicative of progressive loss of muscle tone, such as muscular dystrophy. His current manifestation is low muscle tone which results in muscle weakness all over his body, including neck, trunk, upper body, and legs causing an inability to walk. Saif undergoes physiotherapy twice a week which focuses on weight-bearing exercises for his arms and legs such as sitting on the ball and pushing on his arms, trying to climb, push, walk, run, kick, gripping a pencil, and many more.

When did you decide to come for the Stem Cell treatment? And what made you think this could help your son?

I had a relative who came first and got a lot of good outcomes. It took me two years of research and hundreds of emails exchanged with Beike’s representative before we took the plunge to come. There’s no cure for that in the Western world and since there’s no side effect, we thought “Why not?”. Trust was the biggest concern. But we chose Beike after detailed research and it was one of the best decisions we’ve made.

What were the improvements noticed after treatments? When did it occur?

Since the treatments, his stamina has improved a lot – there is better control of his trunk and some changes in his upper body strength. It appears that he also has an increase in muscle mass all over his body, making him gain more weight. It resulted in his legs not being able to take the weight of his upper body anymore. Now that he is able to compare from the time when we first started, he says he feels more energized, his breathing quality improved and enhanced strength in his abs and trunk. Actually, he even asks to come back again. The improvements occurred within two weeks after the first injection, after a month you can see there are some changes happening and three months later more significant improvements were noticed.

What do you think about the therapies we provide in the treatment protocol?

The rehabilitation protocol includes physical and occupational therapy, transcranial magnetic stimulation, hyperbaric chamber, aqua therapy, acupuncture, and nutrition. Whenever we are here, there’s always a physical assessment to work with Saif according to our goals. All the therapists are experts on what they are doing, we never feel like they are repeating or wasting our time. The nutrition program integrates so well with the whole treatment concept in a way that we have a better understanding now of nutrition and which food Saif needs to eat to help his body grow healthier and stronger. The food he eats here is all prescribed for his specific needs – everything organic and fresh; the results are showing, it’s all making a difference.

How does it feel to be back? What are you hoping to achieve this time?

It feels like being at home. Everyone is so nice and kind, the whole team really care about you, and I really feel like I’m part of their family. For this visit, same as the others, we are hoping to stabilize the progress of his condition, plus more trunk control, strength, and stamina. There are always improvements, so we are happy with anything that will improve his quality of life. We are expecting to come more during his growth phase, we believe it’s an important phase because his body is growing and we hope to continue coming and getting the boost of the stem cells. Western medicine sucks your hope away, and hope is the best thing that this place gives you.
